Bruce Cowell, sales manager for Collins Outdoor Advertising in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly on May 6. Cowell, 48, suffered a heart attack while playing volleyball with friends. He is survived by his wife Carol, two daughters, three grandchildren, his parents and a brother and sister. Employees at Collins were shocked and saddened by his passing.
Cowell had worked for Collins Outdoor Advertising for 18 years, and was the company's sales manager for 12 years. He served on the board of directors of the Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa Outdoor Advertising Club.
Cowell's daughters were Girl Scouts, and
he was active in the Riverland Girl Scout Council serving on the board of directors, finance committee, and assisting in capital campaigns.
He was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of the West Bank Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
Memorials may be sent to the scholarship fund at La Crescent District 300 Foundation of the scholarship fund at Western Wisconsin Technical College, Graphic Arts Program.
